The "Fretting Vaccine" is a shim coated with S-DLC that addresses the issue of metal fatigue, particularly fretting wear, which has been considered unsolvable in the industrial sector. We conducted one million "bending fatigue comparison tests" (at the Kobe Industrial Testing Center) to compare the degree of fretting wear with and without the S-DLC coated shim.
